- General Fireworks Safety
- General Mortar Rack Safety

 | Fireworks is a dangerous hobby, It is soley the responsibility of
the shooter to verify that all safety procedures are followed. |
 | If you do not know what a Firework does, DON'T LIGHT IT! |
 | If a fuse is to short to light and get away from the device, DON'T LIGHT
IT. |
 | If a firework fails to fire off after the fuse has burned fully, leave it
alone, do not pick it up, kick it or get near it for at least 30min.
Then place it in a bucket of water overnight before disposing of it properly. |
 | Always keep a garden hose or the proper type of fire extinguisher present
while using fireworks. |
 | Make sure to only light fireworks off of a flat, hard, level and non
flammable surface. |
 | Always wear proper protective gear including heavy
gloves and safety glasses. Especially if you are hand lighting your
fireworks. |

 | NEVER, EVER put your head, face, or other body part over a tube that has
been loaded or fired until you verify that there is no live shell in it.
Use a mortar stick or mirror assembly to check for a live shell in a tube. Even though you may be firing
consumer class pieces, they can kill you. |
 | Just like a firearm always ASSUME a mortar tube is loaded unless you know
otherwise. |
 | Never force a shell into a tube, all shells should slide smoothly all the
way to the bottom of the tube. If a shell does not fit, try another
tube. Also make sure the tube is not to big for the shell as it will
cause the shell to not gain proper height before breaking. |
 | Use the proper sized tube for the shell you want to fire. There a
variations in shell sizes from different Manufacturers. |
 | Verify the tubes are free of debris or any obstructions prior to
reloading. |
 | Do not overuse or hot drop shells into your tubes. Allow the tubes proper
cooling time before reloading a new shell into it. The MAX you should
reload a tube is 7 times before letting it cool down completely. |
 | Make sure the rack is mounted to a strong and stable base. |
 | Place the rack base on hard, level ground prior to igniting it to avoid
possible tipping over. |
